This article presents the Distributed Ambient Intelligence Architecture (DAmIA), which aims to integrate heterogeneous robotic and sensor entities by providing a flexible and scalable software infrastructure adaptable to different Ambient Intelligence scenarios and tasks.

This video shows some different robot functionalities in a realworld domestic-like environment. In particular, a squared domestic like environment of 5×5 meters is considered, where three stationary cameras and one mobile robot are employed. The aim is to demonstrate that critical tasks, such as people tracking and following, can be successfully performed in a completely distributed manner.
