The main purpose of the MiniShark2 vehicle is to be used to carry out research in the field of marine robotics but it can also be used, given its reduced size and weight, for demonstrations in educational and dissemination contexts.

A fully-functioning, scale reproduction of the Unmanned Semi-Submersible Vehicle (USSV) Shark.

MiniShark2 was launched on September 25, 2017 and it will be presented to the public for the first time on September 28, 2017 during the inauguration of the "Arctic - Interactive Tour to the North Pole" exhibition at the Museum of Science in Naples from 29 September 2017 to 10 December 2017.

Visitors to the exhibition will be given the opportunity to pilot MiniShark2 in a miniature version of the Arctic environment, thus reliving the scientific mission conducted in the summer of 2015 by CNR-ISSIA researchers in Kongsfjord when Shark was used to collect environmental parameters and water samples in sea stretches in the front of the Kronebreen glacier.
