Guido Pasquariello received the Laurea degree ( cum laude) in physics from the University of Bari, Italy, in 1975. In 1976 he joined the CSATA, where he worked in the field of statistical data analysis. From 1977 to 1978 he was scientific fellow of the Commission of European Communities at the Central Bureau for Nuclear Measurements (CBNM), Geel, Belgium. From 1978 to 1980 he joined the National Laboratory of Frascati, Rome, of Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN). Since 1980 he worked on various problems in statistical pattern recognition. From 1980 to 1985 he joined the TECNOPOLIS Science Park of Bari, where he was project leader of projects related to the classification of satellite remote sensing images. Since 1985 he has worked as Senior Scientist at the Institute for Signal and Image Processing of the Italian National Research Council (CNR)) . His research interests include application of Artificial Intelligence tools and Neural Network to digital image processing in the field of computer vision, remote sensing and medical data. He partecipated to various airborn SAR experiments in Europe, like AGRISAR 86, AGRISCAT 87, Maestro-1, AVIOSAR 580, to the first ERS-1 Pilot Projects and to the airborne image spectrometer EISAC-JRC campaign. In 1994 he is member of International Users Commitee of radiometer Vegetation on SPOT-4 satellite. In 1997 he is member of Gruppo di Lavoro /Working Group) for the definition of the Italian Space Plan 1998-2002 .In 2005 was a cofounder of a small technological spin-off company from Politecnico di BARI, namely Geophysical Applications Processing S.r.l. From 2006 to 2008 he was president of the scientific and technological park Tecnopolis (Valenzano, Bari). From 2009 he is member of board of directors of InnovaPuglia spa, the Regione Puglia in house society for innovation in the field of ICT. From 2010 he is member of Consiglio Tecnico-Scientifico of Italian Space Agency (ASI). He is the author or coauthor of more than 140 scientific publications, including journals and conference proceedings.
